I can't really believe I haven't posted anything since November 14th. I guess I got to wrapped up in the holidays starting with Thanksgiving. Well I am sitting here after all the festivities are all done and there is such a quiet sound in the house that it is almost scary! Well I hope to get a few pictures up sometime this week but I am so far behind I don't know if I will ever catch up. I guess I have been trying to many things and not accomplishing much of anything. I haven't scrapped a page in so long I hope I haven't lost my desire to do one again. I did make all my Christmas cards this year which is saying something for me and I got them out in plenty of time. I will have my dh home until January 22nd so I don't know how much time I will get to devote to my passion for scrapping. I now have a new TV and brand new chair for my scrap room so I am totally ready to get going again. I want to wish all my friends a Happy New Year and hope to post some pics this week. God Bless and take care.

First Digital Layout

This is a very simple digital layout. I am just beginning to get my fingers into digital scrapbooking. Theresa and I are both learning new stuff with the digital scrapping end of it. I did get very frustrated in the beginning but things are starting to click. Well if you asked Theresa if I was getting the hang of it she probably tell you another story. lol But I do believe you can teach a senior citizen some new TRICKS! Take care and be on the look out for some more digital lo's. And a BIG THANKS to Liz Ness for the free paper and ribbon embellishment that I use on this layout. The blue paper is awesome.

Success After Many Fail Attempts

After many failed tries I finally got to upload a pic after downloading a new browser. I thought I would put a really good black and white that I ended of taking on the spur of the moment. I was messing around with my camera and caught Drew in this position. Don't know why there is a white space next to the picture though. Oh Well I will settle for that since I finally got to upload something. Take care and God Bless.

Happy Birthday, Bethy!

Well I have been trying to uploading a couple of images and I am having no luck what so ever. Today is my fourth oldest child's 21st birthday. I have been a little sad just it doesn't seem that long ago that she was a little girl. An a mommy's baby to boot. Well she is still a momma's baby which I love! I want to post some really good pictures on here and because I can't I am so frustrated. Well I am going to post something that Theresa tagged me with. Five weird things about me:
1. I can't stand to touch wet peanut butter.
2. I won't eat peas canned, fresh or frozen. YUCK!!!
3. I am way to emotional.(don't know is that is weird or not)
4. Well I have two more to go and I am kind of stumped.....well I loved liver and onions. Is that weird enough.
5. One more to go....I love singing loud while driving my car.
Well I am going to go back and try figuring out way I can't upload my pictures.

A Nice Surprise

My local favorite scrapbook store Scrapper's Alley had a grand reopening on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They had a drawing for a Cricut. Theresa and I went over on Friday and put our names in for the drawing. We also got to get in the picture for the newspaper. Michelle is one of the nicest people to deal with. Well 5 o'clock Sunday came and went so I figured Theresa or I didn't win the Cricut. Well I had finished dinner and was talking with Theresa when I hung up and Michelle called to tell me that I WON the Cricut! Well I started jumping up and down and yelling. My kids were here and asked me if I had won and of course I yelled YES! I still am in total shock that I won. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Theresa just showed me how it works on Friday. I had to share the excitement with everyone. See Kristi I finally had something worthy to post. lol Playtime starts tomorrow after dinner. YIPEEEEE!

Another Story

Since I don't lead a real exciting life I thought I would post something Drew said again. His mommy and him were practicing animal sounds and he did everything right except when it came to doing the pig sound or should I said snort. He looked at his mommy and tried to make the noise and then he said he couldn't do it but his butt could. How cute is that? I hope to take some pictures tomorrow at a family picnic and trip to the Museum of Transporation. I know Drew will just love the trains because he will be able to climb on some of them. I'll tried to post some pictures tomorrow evening. Take care and have a great day tomorrow!

Fortune Cookie

With the trouble we have been having with our oldest, this fortune cookie really hit close to home. The fortune cookie said "Do not dwell on differences with a loved one - try to compromise. Also Theresa sent a quiz for me to do and this is the results. What kind of scrapbooking item are you? It seems I am PAPER! I think it is pretty right on.

You are an all natural basic person who likes to act as a foundation to others. You are willing to take a backseat in most of your relationships and let others take the spotlight, while you show your support and help them shine! Underneath it all, you are the one who makes it all happen. You are the focus and stability in any group, even if you are not the leader. Others look to you to set the pace and provide ideas for ways to get things done. But Paper Beware - sometimes you get a little edgy with the people who look to you for support and can give them some papercut remarks that can hurt their feelings. Remember to watch what you say, because you are best when leading by example.

Someone Other than Drew

I have been without a computer since Friday evening and finally got it back this morning. I didn't realize how addicted I am to my computer. And my email was almost out of control. The guy who fix my computer said I was about a hair's width from having a major hard drive crash. I feel really lucky to it working so wonderfully now.
This was a celebration of my youngest grandson JD at his 2nd birthday. He is only about 6 months younger than Drew.

A FuNnY TaLe

Yesterday Drew and I ate at McDonald's. We were almost finished eating when he pointed out the window and said a chicken crossed the road. And I said yeah right. I came to find out that a rooster(chicken to Drew) was indeed walking around outside of McDonald's. I found out that a evening shift girl's husband the night before had a rooster escape from his truck. The group of people there that afternoon thought he was relating something that I had read to him. He definitely got a few laughs when we all discovered the rooster. I'll learn to believe him from now on. Bye for now!

Ideas Are Flying

I wasn't sure if I could do the required 3 layouts and 2 cards and then try to put together 10 layouts for the Legacies Superstar Contest! So far the ideas keep coming (keeping my fingers crossed that it stays like that until I get #10 done). Now if I can just find the time before and after I have Drew during the day and try to work on this in the evenings. I just I won't be posting too many layouts until I am done with this contest.

I do love coming on to see all the posts my scrapbooking buddies have made of late. So at least I will be checking them out. I might post a few pictures since I am trying to take better pictures both with film and digital. If they are really good they just might be kept under wraps for the contest.

With Alot of Help

With alot of help from a real sweet guy I got my really messed template fixed. It is now looking like I want my blog to look. I guess I shouldn't worry about such minor things with what has gone on this past week. My heart goes out to those families who lost their loved ones in that horrific plane crash in Sullivan. Someone else we know lost his fight with cancer this week. And this very afternoon we heard that a friend of my daughter's 11 year old brother was missing since last nite but was found safe and sound soon after we heard about it. I feel so blessed to have the family I have and cherish each moment with them. Life is sometimes so brief that I promise myself not to sweat the small stuff. Try a random act of kindness, or kiss a loved one, praise someone for a good deed and be sure to thank the good Lord for a blessed life. God Bless.

Took the Challenge

Took Jamie up on her challenge about creating a simple lo using colors that we wouldn't normally use, or hand journaling or something other that what we usually put on a lo. I actually got 3 layouts done this put I am only putting the challenges up on here this evening. The first one I hand journalled and changed the photo to black and white. The journaling reads...Matt and Hattie are more than just co-workers, they are friends. The picture was taken at Matt's graduation. At graduation was the first time we all got to meet her. We all had heard so much about her it felt like we knew her already. She calls herself his black Mama. She is truly a special person in Matt's life. She is the epitome of the word Mother. And I know she was proud of Matt's accomplishment. I probably wouldn't have used orange either. The second one didn't scan to well. And what else is a Momma suppose to think other than that her daughter is beautiful. Her blue eyes just knock me out. I want my kids and grandkids to think I really tried to make it more personal with hand journalling pages. Hope you enjoyed your weekend! I got my Drewbie back this evening and couldn't get enough lovin from him. : )

Rascal Flatts Concert

Since I didn't have any good pictures from the
concert I wanted something to remember the moment so I created a lo. I scanned a CD insert and printed it on vellum of Rascal Flatts. The spelling of RF was paper with the alphabet letters that I cut out and distressed. And of course the journaling, tickets and at the bottom which might be hard to see I stamped Me and My Gang. I thought the paper went pretty good with matching the CD insert. TFL!

Have a good weekend and God Bless!

Nervous Energy

I am finally finished with this month's DT layouts. It was truly a challenge like pulling my own teeth. lol I worked most of the day yesterday and finished 2 layouts and did the other layout and the 2 cards early this evening. I am not going to post any layouts because they are TOP
SECRET!! until they are put out at Legacies. lol I am not sure if I like one of the layouts yet.
It will have to grown on me I guess. I had to do something to keep my mind off if my gang made it to North Carolina and if Colleen was feeling better. She isn't and she is worried she will have to find a ER down there. She is worried about messing up everyone's vacation too!

Well though I will miss Drew I will have the whole week of not setting any alarm clock and now I can work on some pages I have been putting off until I got the July DT kit done. Well enjoy the
better weather and the week ahead. Take care and God Bless!

Frustrated

I searched and searched and finally found the problem why I couldn't upload my pics. Here is the picture of my Gerber daisies. Would Heidi Swapp be jealous? lol

I am having such a hard time with this month's DT kit. I don't know if it is that I have the wrong pictures to go with the paper or if it's just a major block on my end. I have to wonder if anyone else has this problem once in awhile. It's so frustrating to have ideas in your head and not be able to get them onto the paper. I am having so much self doubt lately it's driving me a bit crazy. Wish me luck.

Colleen finally came home on Wednesday.
Still feeling a bit puny but better. She wants to be better because they are suppose to leave early Saturday morning for North Carolina on vacation.

I will have all next week off too. I hope to get a bunch of scrapbooking done and my layouts for the DT done then too.

I feel so bad for the people who have to work in this heat. Hopefully it will cool down soon. Take care and bye now.

Tests and more Tests

Well Colleen is still in the hospital. They can't seem to narrow it down and give her a straight answer to what is wrong. Her levels in her pancreas are to high they say. She had a MRI today and tomorrow another procedure sticking a tube down her throat to see is its a ulcer. Luckily for her she will be knocked out for it. I have had Drew 24/7 since Thursday evening. This is one tired nana! That's why God gives us children to raise when we are much younger. I haven't had time to do anything unless it's coming on the computer for a bit before bedtime to unwind. I did a take picture of my Gerber daisies. I love Heidi Swapp's Gerber daisies but I must admit there is nothing like the real thing. I so want to relax and work on some of my DT layouts and just haven't been able to do that.

Any Suggestions

I am posting again twice in one day because I finally got a picture to upload. I love this pic of Drew but wonder if I should crop it before using it on a layout. Any cc or suggestions would help. Thanks! Bye for now.

Surprised!

I was so surprised to wake up and get on and find out that I had won the Legacies journaling and trinket contest layout. I have really been in a bad funk lately and this uplifted my spirits immensely. And I hope it brought me out of my scrapbooking slump. Now if someone could help me to get pictures and layouts posted on here I would be one happy girl.

Sidetracked

Well I was going to at least try and get a couple of pages scrapbooked tonite after dinner but we ended up having to go to the emergency room because Colleen was having chest pains. We stayed until about 8:45 and were pretty sure nothing major was wrong. We brought Drew home with us to spend the night. We will know more probably tomorrow after all tests are read and are back. Hopefully she won't have to spend the night at the hospital. More details later. Take care and God Bless.

Over the Scrapbooking Slump

Ok maybe I am coming out of my scrapbooking slump. I hope so! I just refigured out how to get a layout posted in TwoPeas after not doing it for awhile. I turned in a page for a contest and now I need to work on the layouts for this month. I have been fighting with myself saying that I don't have the right pictures but tomorrow I am going to try and get a couple layouts done.

The story on Drew this week was I went to my bedroom and came back into the kitchen a couple of seconds later and found he had gotten the chocolate syrup and squirted it on the floor and then got down on his knees and proceeded to lick it up right before I grabbed him up off the floor. The joy of a 2-1/2 year old. OH MY! Oh I am going to try and post a layout on here tonite too. Wish me luck! It hasn't been working and they say it might be Internet Explorer thats the culprit. Oh well it's not working still. Take care and God Bless.

Surprise Package

Ok I am still trying to get some pictures and layouts posted on here. Still running into some glitches.

I am excited to find out that I found the BasicGrey paper package from Kelly's blog. Since I started scrapbooking Basic Grey has been one of my favorite papers to work with. And since I have been scrapping I have met some very wonderful friends, and some very talented people. I truly believe it is a sisterhood. My next achievement hopefully after I conquer the posting of pics is to get a banner up and running. What better things to do when your everyday life seems a bit boring once and awhile. Take care and God Bless.

Saturday, July 01, 2006

I still haven't found the challenge to start scrapping. All I have done so far was to straighten my table and scrap room. I ran into so many glitches last night trying to post a layout on here that I went to bed so frustrated.

Thursday, June 29, 2006

Had another day with my hubby on model change. Usually we get on each others nerves after awhile. This time has been pretty decent.

As those who know me I babysit my grandson Drew 4 to 5 days a week.

Well today was just one of those WILD days for him. We met with my girlfriend for lunch at Lion's Choice. As I was paying for our lunch he ran into the Women's restroom and locked himself in a stall. Luckily I banged on the door and told him to unlock it and he did amazingly.

Had a delicious supper at my daughters and son-in-law house tonight. Some real down home cooking done by Jerrod, my son-in-law. Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, country gravy and even home made ice cream. I did supply the blackberry cobbler.

I have to get busy in a day or two and get some major scrapbooking done. I feel like I am in such a slump. I find it sometimes so hard to sit down and try and come up with something creative. I am wondering what others do when they get into these kind of slumps. It like I freeze up and just can't do it sometimes. I feel inspired when I browse thru the gallery in Two Peas or thru a magazine but when I go to try and get something down on paper I totally go blank. Help?? What's a crazed scrapper to do?

Hopefully in a day or two I will get some layouts posted on here.

Take care and have a great evening!

Wednesday, June 28, 2006

My name is Debbie. I am a wife, a mother of 5. A grandma of 3. I have been scrapbooking for over 6 years. I am a member of a design team for Legacies in Sullivan since September 2005. I love getting new kits every month. It pushes me to try and get out of my box. I love the new products that are out in the market today. I want to learn to take better pictures. I have lately gotten back to using my manual Pentax K-1000 camera, which I have fallen in love with all over again.
Wow, I just became a blogger tonite which I have wanted to do for awhile now. And so far it was hard. The hard part will be learning how to get pictures and links into it. Can you teach an old dog new tricks? I hope so. I hope to join all my scrapbooking addicted friends and collegues with this. Lately I have had a obsession with trying to figure out Photoshop Elements 4. Why do things come so naturally for some people and some it's like pulling teeth. Well I hope to get the hang of this quickly, but only time will tell. God Bless and Good Night for now.
