I have been totally just too busy to post on here so I doubt that I will get any response after so long from neglecting my blog, but I will try any way! lol

The summer has just flown pass me and I cannot believe we are into September already!
I got birthday pics, school pics, soceer pics and tons more stuff that I am way behind on. But life goes on anyway!

I survived a busy summer with Logan and Drew. And now Drew is in Kindergarten already. I got to take him in with his mommy on his very first day of school.

Logan turned 2 July 25 which is hard to believe too. At the end of his party
Colleen walked us to our car and told us that Logan is going to be a big brother
around March 26. We are so excited and hoping that maybe this one will be another
granddaughter after 3 boys in a row. The oldest granddaughter will be eleven in December so its time for another girl. Colleen has been really sick so far into this pregnancy that I have tried to take the boys and keep them out of her hair as
much as possible. That's about all I can do to help out.

Also in August our third oldest grandchild had his 5 birthday party.

Its been a 2 years now that my dh retired and we still haven't kill each other. Been much too busy for that. lol

I tried to see Theresa as much as possible this summer while she was off from school because when school starts I don't get to spend much free time hanging out with her. But there is light at the end of the tunnel with a graduation in December. Hee Haw I am so proud and tickled for her! WTG Girlfriend

And now soceer season starts for Kiera, JD and Drew. So more run run run! But I love going and taking pics.

Talk about pics I had my very first photo shoot with Colleen's best friend Holly who just had a baby girl after 2 boys! I think I got some really good shots which I needed because I am doing the baby's birth announcements for Holly. Had so much fun and learned a few more things. I went into photoshop and turned the pic black and white and just colorize the bow pink. I will try and show a pic of the announcement that I made with this picture.
And today we took Logan to see the fire trucks in Sullivan and to catch a few photos of him. He surprised us both by totally freaking out! But got some cute shots anyway. I did this for Drew but I think he was a
bit older.

I finally posting again on a request from the oldest daughter. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, really! I was getting a little caught up on facebook and life in general. I finally started scrapping again. Not much else is new except grandsons are getting bigger and bigger. I am going to post at least one of the layouts I did over the weekend. Got almost 3 done and several ideas swimming in my head. I have been taking tons of pics and haven't gotten to get much scrapped until
recently. So here's one of the newest. It's a start for me again at least.

I am still working on the journaling on the other layout but I will try and post it soon. Have a good week and God Bless!

Some Random Thoughts and Shots

It seems like forever since I posted as my daughter remind me a few days ago. I haven't had to much energy with this head cold I have.

My word for this year I think will be practice. I am trying to practice to take better pictures or at least learn some more features on my Nikon D60. I am also trying to practice more patience and practice of letting things not get to me as in the past. Sometimes it is easier said than done. I was going to try and do the 365day project but that quickly got away from me.

Another thing that has me addicted now is Facebook. Can't seem to stay for off of it.

Not much more in the way of exciting news but I scrapped over at Theresa's awhile ago and scrapped 3 layouts in one nite. I haven't been that productive in a long time. Now that American Idol is back on that to might go by the wayside temporarily.
I hope not!
Here are a few random shots. The first one is Drew with a skelton that turned out much to hard for just him to put together so turned into a project for him and PaPa.

The Creche

I totally went real simple this year with the decorations and instead my santas I decided to bring out this beautiful creche made by cousin's wife Jean for my Uncle years and year ago but was passed on to me about 6 years ago at Colleen's wedding. Colleen also got one that Jean had made for her motherinlaw.
I decided with busy little Logan hands I couldn't put to much stuff out this year.
It made it easier but also a bit sweeter. Merry Christmas to all and hopefully a Happy New Year. God Bless!
Got to finish up my Christmas cards tonite or the wrath of my DH will be upon me. I can't understand why he is so concerned with Christmas cards. lol

Today when Colleen and Drew came to pick up Logan, Drew spotted a ballon that a girl gave him at Walmart. Of course he wanted to take it home with him. Pawpaw told him he had to hang on to it at their house because they have really high ceilings and he would lose it if he let go of it. And Drew replied it won't get lost but it would be up there with Jesus and God. I am wondering if going to a Catholic preschool is rubbing off on him. lol

About two weeks ago Drew was here on his Thursday with us. We were eating breakfast and he pulled up his shirt and told me he had this stomach forever and never eats junk food. I had to bust out laughing because sometimes he eats too much junk.

Well today I basically finished up my Christmas shopping! Now for some Christmas decorations. I am going to have to limit some of the decorations because Loggie Bear and his busy hands.

I am finally starting to get into the Christmas spirit. One thing I am going to take out this year is my ceramic creche. I haven't done that in a long time. And this is what Christmas is about and not all the commericalizing stuff that goes on this time of year.

Stories In Hand

I finally got started with Jessica Sprague class Stories In Hand. I think it's looking pretty cool and some memories are flooding back that I want to write about for my children and grandchildren. Some stuff I have probably told them at least once or twice but might not be remembered unless I put pen to paper or use my computer. I know the grandkids haven't heard all the stories I have told and I don't want them to think when they get older how they wished like I do now that I had some kind of record of my grandparents stories. I want them to remember how a simple glass brings back memories of my dad making him and I chocolate malts. I saved the glasses but I haven't saved the story yet. I can't wait to dig in and start writing these stories down. Thanks Jessica for the free class!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. The kids took me and Den out to dinner and movie. Well, Den didn't go to the movie! The kids went in together on a gift certificate from our local scrapbook store. Beth also got me my first Coach purse.
My BFF Theresa got me a cute pink t-shirt that said If you mess with my scrapbook stuff I will punch your eyelets out! And some stamps, and ink! By DH got me a Shark hand-held vac that I had been wanting. Definitely practical! hehe

The dinner was great but the movie wasn't all that good! The kids couldn't help that one! Take care and God Bless!

The election is over, the colder weather came today and another year older tomorrow.
I haven't done much blogging this week or so but with babysitting and the normal day to day stuff along with trying to add a few more lessons of Photoshop in my daily routine it keeps me busy. My fourth oldest just had her birthday on Wednesday and turned 23. So this shot is of her blowing out her candles. Something she said she wanted to do and hasn't done since she probably turned sweet 16. Sorry about not getting the cake and candles in the shot!

Next is a family shot of Jerrod, Colleen, Drew and Logan that I tried to Monday since they were dressed up coming from a funeral. I have been trying to get one of them together for awhile now.

Next is a random shot of Logan with a play pirate eye patch on. Just had to get my camera a click away. Look at those yummy cheeks!

And the last shot is of Drew and how big he has gotten over the summer! I can't believe how big he is. He has lost all of his baby fat. He has no tummy now. He is 4 going on 11.

A Visit to Wine Country

Last weekend was so gorgeous we decided to get up and go to Hermann, MO. Its only about an hour from where we live. Matthew, our son that lives in St. Louis now was down and went with us. Hermann is small quaint town established in 1836 situated on the Missouri River. During October they have what they called Octoberfest. They have a winery, gift shops, flea markets, historic sites and bed and breakfast. These are a few of the pics I tried to capture. I don't go anywhere now without my Nikon D60. Just love it!

Still Learning

Ok I am still learning and trying to teach myself a few more tricks everyday. This is so doggone addicting. I hopefully after awhile I can learn munches of new stuff and my stuff while start looking as good as some of the magazines layouts. I got a long way to go in that department. But I am having fun learning. This digital scrapbooking should come with a label. Watch out Liz and Jackie I am working on one with your papers and elements. Here's a digital layout of my oldest granddaughter, Kiera at around 6 months. I can't believe she will be 10 in December. I used paper, the flowers, the butterfly and the flower border at the bottom. I am having fun and finding out you can teach a old dog new tricks. I think I am becoming a bit addicted to this digital scrapbooking. But I will always be a paper scrapper but this is nice to fall back on when you are in a scrapper's slump. Take care and God Bless! TFL!

My Boys!

This last week has been a bad week for the Schlueter boys! The end of last weekend Logan decided to take a dive right off his mom and dads bed head first and landed right smack into their rocker. He had one gigantic goose egg on his forehead. It looks pretty good compared to what size the goose egg was...

Then on Friday Drew went with his mom to deliver checks to their guys on the site and decided to take off running and ran smack into a 2x4 with his nose. It was bleeding and swelled up but its not that bad anymore and I don't have a pic of that accident.

I have been on a roll lately and have actually been scrapping pretty much lately.

I finished this last nite while watching a movie with Beth. I have had these letters forever. They were white and I was suppose to spray paint them black for Drew's new room. I sprayed them black over a month ago and decided last nite to get out my Rusty Pickle pirate themed paper and do something with them. This is how it turned out. This was inspired by the pirate theme to Drew's room. They even have a large wooden chest for treasures(oh, I mean toys).

Because You Grew Up...

I saw this in my current issue of AARP and had to put it up here. "Because you grew up in an age before video games. When we were kids, we played outside. Our bodies were hard-breathing little rainbows of energy and earth-red cheeks from the running, brown hands from mud, green-grass streaks on our pants. We dreamed of grandiose forts that never got built, had sword flights with sticks while riding our bikes(okay, that was more of a boy thing). But we lived, baby. We lived! Unlike so many kids today, whose every micromanaged, remote-control moment is seemingly spent indoors. Oh, how the play times have changed.

Happy Birthday Logan!

Our youngest grandbaby Logan turned one on Friday. On Sunday they had a big blowout for him. Our son in law's niece's little baby girl was born two days after Logan so they combined the birthday for the both of them. Loggie and Izzie had a super turnout of guests, presents and fun. Here are just a few pics of them and their celebration.
Logan really wasn't sure what he was suppose to do with his cake but Izzie dived right in!

As of Monday I finally got my doctor's ok to get rid of my crutches. I was soooo READY to be done with them. Six plus weeks hobbling around on crutches is not FUN!
But being waited on hand and foot was nice to a certain extent! But it kept me away from my craft room for a long time.

Within in the last couple of weeks I started making cards again and finished 3 circle journal pages that I am involved with My Heart Friends. I got them done and past on to Theresa. Awaiting the next one in the mail.

I have been able to mess around more now with my new Nikon D60 that I got for Mother's Day. It's such a awesome camera. Here are just a few pics that I took recently. Of course there of my grandkids.

One is of Logan exploring himself in my bedroom. I took a bunch one right after another and I captured several with him at his best. One is a recent one of Drew as of yesterday. They both are changing so fast its scarey. Logan is walking more and more by himself and giving out sweet kisses too! I can't believe how big Drew has gotten this summer. The next one is of JD at one of Kiera's softball games that we went to. The last one is of Kiera right after her softball game.

I haven't done alot of scrapping this summer but I have finished part of a circle journal project with My Heart Friends. I passed them on to Theresa and poor Detta will be swamped with 3 circle journals at once. Sorry, Detta.

Slacker Blogger

Oh ok I am still alive but barely. lol The last three weeks have been totally exhausting with ripping out carpeting, painting and getting new hardwood floors put in living room, hallway and 2 bedrooms. All this and trying to babysit a 9 month old. Most of that is behind us and the results are truly amazing. More pictures later.
I am now in the process of purging and trying to empty out downstairs closets and other clutter to get ready for a yard sale. Wish me luck!

Right now I actually have a break from Logan and Drew before the summer starts because they went on their first vacation this summer. I will have another break towards the end of June when they go to Texas. I am trying to take advantage of all this spare time and trying to get some major clutter out of my life. I have the computer room almost done and Beth has moved most of her stuff out of her bedroom.
The girls want Jerrod to knock the wall down between Beth's room and my craft room and turn it into craft room/ play area for the grandkids. I will let him to that if he can save at least the one closet. This way the boys can play, watch TV and I can do my thing and keep and eye on them too.

I am still among the living. Just been a bit too busy and not having too much interesting things going on in my life. Hopefully I can blog a bit more and also scrapbooking a bit more. Theresa and I went to CKC in St. Louis, and for me it truly was movivating trip. Seems like I got somewhat of my mojo back and now if I could find more time.
Spring is my favorite time of year because everything starts budding and blooming. And my favorite flowers are tulips.

Here are a couple of pics of Logan at the start of a teething cookie and almost the end. His first tooth finally broke thru and he has finally got the hang of crawling.
He doesn't want to much of that because he would rather pull himself up and get around that way! Got to get off for now because its movie nite with Beth my second daughter. Take care and God Bless!

I hope you all had a joyous Easter Sunday! We here in Missouri had our some more typical crazy weather. It was in the low 40's, a little sunshine and then it looked like we were having a bit of a blizzard! Here's what pics I got of my three grandkids before the snow started. The littlest one Logan stayed inside because of a very runny nose.

I guess Theresa made it snow here in Missouri since she wrote on her blog that she would probably have to get Connor a snowsuit for Easter. lol

Crazy Missouri Weather

Can you believe on Saturday it was 60 something and Sunday it was about 78 degrees.
On Monday morning we started with rain and it turned to snow in the early afternoon and we are suppose to get from 6 to 10 inches of snow by sometime tomorrow.

Our little Logan has learned to babble that baby talk. Something that justs makes me SMILE big time. He went home Thursday and we don't usually get him again until Monday. So by Saturday he started doing it and it was a surprise to us when he started this morning after he woke up. He is just the happiest baby!

Week #2 at Scrapdango

Here's my take on Week #2 at Scrapdango. We had to distress! I distressed the Heidi Swapp letters and inked all my WeRMemoryKeepers papers with dark brown chalk ink. I just love the looks of Drew on this layout. Thanks for looking! And I want to thank my BFF Theresa for the title inspiration!

Snow Day

We are suppose to get anywhere from 9 to 12 inches by tomorrow morning. This picture is just the start of the snow. You really can't tell but it was coming down pretty heavy, hard and major big flakes.

I can't believe I got to take 3 pictures today. Well the next one was really taken yesterday of Logan. He is growing like a weed and is now 18 pounds 3 ounces as of Wednesday.

Next is one of Drew today at nap time. He had to put his bear in a little chair I have and put it right by the top of his head. I thought that was so cute! I actually had both of them napping at the same time today. SWEET!

Yeah I am Still Living!

Seems like forever since I posted something to my blog. But I am still in the land of the living. Just busy babysitting lately and have wanted to take a break from the mouse when I do have some free time.
Wanted to show what I created this weekend as a surprise for my daughter for her office. Created this really cute coaster calendar with tags to record birthdays, anniversaries and other such entries. I used 6 Bazzil chipboard coasters and then flipped around to do the other 6 months. I already had a stack of calendar paper and I used a ton of stash and my Cricut for this project. Theresa saw this on the Cricut web site and enail the link and I did my own take on it. I used a templete from a gal on Splitcoaststampers for the calendar.

The final picture is not very good but its what it looks standing on a table or desk. The scanned images aren't all that good either. The real thing I think is so much cuter and I am really happy the way it turned out. It looks much better in real life. Just ask Theresa! Take care and God Bless. Have a good week! 35 Years Ago Today and 21 years ago...

Two young people were bonded in marriage at in Atlanta, Georgia at a justice of peace at the county courthouse. Many years later after the ups and downs, the joys and sorrows, trials and tribulations, 5 children and 4 grandchildren we are still together and hope we have at least another 35 years together. Happy Anniversary, hun!

Our youngest turned 21 today. Happy Birthday, Mark!
I was told that I had a couple of dates to choose from because Mark was going to be a scheduled C-section. So Dennis told me that he hadn't taken me out many times on our anniversary so he would take me to the hospital to deliver Mark. LOL

This is my take on the challenge at Scrappy Giraffe's final Scrap That Tune. I chose Wing Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler, the scrappy mission I chose was to follow the sketch and use song name or lyrics on layout. The requirement I chose was 3. Use everything from 1 & 2 and add eyelets. One and two were hand stitching and letter stickers and 2. was hide either your journaling or a photo. Bonus was 1. alumninum foil and 2. stamping. Week #4's challenge I used the sketch from Leisha's Page Plans. The challenge is called Scrap That Tune. I had 3 choices but I chose I Believe in Us by Amy Sky.
Next I chose 1. requirements which were staples, ribbon and rub-ons. The Scrappy Mission I chose to use the sketch and the title and/or the lyrics to the song. And I went with the bonus by using the notebook paper. I added painted and glossed Maya Road chipboard swirls, transparencies were used for the lyrics and the stamped butterfly. Here's my take. TFL!

Ok, I am spilling the beans as per Theresa's request. The other day when I had Drew, I asked him for some kisses. He flat out told me no. So Colleen asked him why he wouldn't give his Nana any kisses and he stated as he pointed to his mouth...these kisses are staying in my mouth. Out of the mouths of babes.

One more little funny from him...He came home the other day with a star student paper. His mommy asked him if he got that for his hair. And he replied I didn't get it for my hair I got it for my good(again pointing to himself). I don't know where he comes up with this stuff. He is truly my little rascal!

Vacation Is Over

We enjoyed our little mini vacation down in Branson. We did a little shopping, sightseeing, boating, relaxing and just enjoyed being together. The above picture is just one of many that I took of Tablerock Lake down there. I was inspired when I came back by my friend Amy's layout at BadGirlskits.com. The challenge was to embrace your white space. I turned this layout out yesterday in about 30 minutes. I am really happy the way it turned out. This view was from Jerrod's boat. I had a great time taking a spin on the lake one afternoon and then one evening with a full moon shining down on the lake. That would have been a terrific picture but that time I forgot my camera. It wasn't hanging from my neck that time. lol

Having Fun with Photshop Actions!

I spent the entire afternoon hooked on messing around with some new Photoshop Actions! I am definitely hooked for sure. The one I used on Drew's picture is lensblur a variation in the original called Lensbaby. I am totally amazed what you can do. Now I have to get busy and try some digital scrapbooking that I have wanted to do for months and months.
Well to bed I go because we are heading out early in the morning for 5 days in Branson. Yes, I did pack a ton of scrapbooking stuff and will let you know how much I accomplished while gone. Take care and God Bless!

This was one of the experiements with my telephoto lens. It is much clearer and sharper on the original pic. This was taken on my back deck. We have as many as 8 hummingbirds now and one fiesty one that tries to chase all of the others away.

I am taking Theresa up on her comment today on my blog. Refresh, refresh, refresh. I have been trying to go thru years of junk in my basement so I have been neglecting my blog. I finally sat down last nite and actually did a layout and since the challenges I haven't done one! Thought I better before I lose my mojo again. I am not going to post it here tonite but instead I am going to post a couple of pics of Drew's first day of school and a smiling Logan.

Kids Say the Darnest Things

On Drew's second day of pre-school Colleen walked him into his class. She was stopped by a friend and neighbor, Kelly who is the aide for the preschool and told Colleen she had to tell her something Drew did yesterday in the hall. Colleen thought to herself oh MY! what did he do. Drew saw Father Dennis in the hallway and told Kelly he needed to talk to him (mind you Drew is 3-1/2). So Kelly let him go and Drew tapped Father on the leg. He looked up at him and said I didn't know you were going to be here. What a hoot! He sees him in church and I guess didn't expect to see him at school. I was hoping to post a pic but have to wait and get one off of Colleen's camera cause Drew wasn't cooperating with me yesterday. Much too excited I guess.
And tonite they were looking at pictures and he saw a pic of me. Beth told me he put it up to his cheek and then told her he wanted to call Nana. It brought me to tears. It's nice to know he misses me as much as I miss having him. I will only have him one day a week after Colleen goes back to work in late October. But I will
have my hands full with litle Logan. I enjoy having this time off but I miss him too. Take care and God Bless.

This is my latest favorite. I just couldn't do a couple of pics I had to use most of them. The faces on these two are something else! The photo shoot was taken by Theresa at her house this past February. We had so much fun and had to bribe the boys with candy and surprises. I know Drew ended up with a harmonica but I am not sure what Connor ended of getting. These two have such a love/hate relationship that its too funny. I think its because they are so close in age that they try and compete with each other. Both of them come up with some of the darnest things! TFL!

This was week #6 challenge at The Scrapbook Site. It was called the Power of Three. We had to have:
3 pictures
3 buttons
3 different patterned papers
3 different ribbons
3 word title
3 extra embellishments that weren't used already
Also some good journaling, more than just basics of names, date, location. Tell a story. I used new pattern paper called ScribbleScrabble and everything turned out like I envisioned it.
I am truly enjoying the challenges. It gets the creative juices flowing, uses my stash and get a layout done. I thought this one would be hard but it flowed right out of me which made me a happy girl! TFL! Take care, keep safe and God Bless.

A Mother's End of Summer Prayer by Debbie Farmer

I had this in my church bulletin this week and had to share it with all my
friends with kiddos. Have a Kleenex ready, cause I had tears in my eyes at the end! It goes like this:
Dear God,
Grant me the strength to last until Back to School Night.
Give me the energy to drive the swim team carpool, take knots out of wet shoelaces with my teeth and untangle the dog from the sprinkler hose one last week.
Grant me the wisdom to finally remember the name of the redheaded kid from down the street who hasn't left our house since early July.
Walk with me through the backyard over piles of wet bathing suits and empty ice cream cups, to rescue my good lipstick from the bottom of the wading pool.
Give me the courage to accept that everything in the refrigerator either has a bite out of it, had a finger stuck in it or is reproducing in the vegetable crisper underneath the expensive cheese.
Guide me down the hallway to the laundry room, where I can experience five minutes of peace and quiet by turning off the lights and climbing on the dryer so the kids can't see my feet under the door.
Help me accept the fact that even if I take the kids to the circus, install a pool in the backyard, go on a safari, and carve a redwood tree into a canoe and sail down the Congo, my children will end each day with "I'm bored."
Grand me the serenity to smil when my husband insists on tossing the Hamburger Helper on the gas grill because "everything tastes better barbecued."
In your infinite wisdom, show me how to disconnect the video game console that hasn't been turned off since June 22nd.
Comfort me when I realize the color of my earth-tone carpet has changed into a mixture of melted blue Popsicle and the remains of somebody's purple slushie.
And if I ask too much, God, just give me the foresight to know that one day-not too many years from now-the barbeque, television, and sprinkler hose will be off; the refrigerator, front door and garage will be closed, and I will wonder where my children-and the little redheaded boy with glasses-went!

I wanted to share a layout from a swap that I did with a new friend from TSS. Amy Birch did this of Logan and its just awesome. Can't wait to put it on Logan's first page of his scrapbook. Thanks a million, Amy!

The other thing I am posting tonite is some of my photography that I have been experimenting with. These are purple cone flowers and they stand at least 3 feet high. They are in my front yard garden and I just love them.

This scrapbooking hobby has brought me so many wonderful friends that I truly enjoy seeing their work, chatting with them and hearing from them. Scrapbooking is definitely a sisterhood that beats all!

This is week 5 of the challenges on The Scrapbook Site. We had to use at least 4 lines of a meaningful song,and 2 pictures. I came across this Bo Bunny paper at my LSS and knew it was perfect. This lo is in celebration of 35 years together with the love of my life. Luckily for me Theresa took these pics of us at Drew's birthday party this year. We don't have many pictures of us together. It's A Boy!

Logan Charles Schlueter arrived on July 25th at 9:07 p.m. He weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. I was lucky to arrive just in time to watch my little girl give birth for the second time. He looks like a carbon copy of Drew only with dark hair. Like a dummy I left my camera today up at the hospital. So I will have to post some pictures tomorrow evening. Can't wait until I have this little cutie pie full time. Take care and God Bless!

Here's one lucky girl. She is getting to meet some of her scrapbook idols this weekend in Chicago at CHA! The above pic is Theresa with Erin Lincoln and C.D. Muckosky(SOY). Poor me has to miss out. I had to weigh staying home and maybe missing a grandchild's birth. So I elected to stay home. I knew the minute I was in Chicago that grandbaby would decide to make a appearance. haha I hope that she is having a blast...OH! Favorite Lunch

I got away for lunch today with Theresa and Connor. Of course I had my little monkey Drew. We met at one of our favorites which is Cracker Barrel. Last year
sometime I got a picture of Connor and Drew playing checkers but somehow it got lost in vastness of my computer, so today I took another pic and downloaded and labeled right after I got home. So this is them attempting to play their version of checkers. I got the perfect paper when Theresa and I went to CKC-St. Louis this April. Can't wait to try and put together a lo of them.

Tried Something New

Went on a friend's blog the other night and saw that she had done a 6 x 12 lo so I thought I would mess around and try to do one too. The above is what turned out. It's a picture of my family's summer cabin when I was much much younger. The journaling that came from the picture is childhood memories, hot days for swimming, late night card games, summer vacation, ghost stories and comic books. I still think it needs something but can't put my finger on what it is. I recall so many fond memories of a place long gone. I might decide to add more journaling on the back to tell my kids and their kids what the little cabin met to me. I showed Dennis(my dh) the picture while we sat on the couch during Drew's nap this afternoon and we both remembered special things from our childhood for close to an hour. It was so nice to have some quiet just for us.

Oh What A Week!

It started out ok but steadily grew worse. I started a 8 week challenge on The Scrapbooksite.com and the first challenge was a bit of a bummer me. The second was much easier. The layout on here is a mid-week challenge. It's not the best scan but will have to do. The week was busy as usual but it got a bit stressful with a a very headstrong grandson. I don't know if its his age or that I am getting older. We locked horns a couple time this past week. His newest saying when he isn't happy with you is that like me(he states your not my Nana any more! He told his Momma that she wasn't his Mommy any more and that he and Daddy were getting a new mommy and she wasn't invited to his birthday party. lol
Today we went over to his house because my dh was going to cut their grass. They have a alarm system. I accidently fat fingered it and set the alarm off and then push the code again. I forgot they would call and Drew and I headed to town. The police showed up and they questioned my poor dh. Everything turned out fine. But then my husband proceeded to break a side/rear quarter window in my car. The estimates started out at $600 and up to $1300. Luckily we finally found a used one for $275.
To end on a good note Drew is enjoying his swimming lessons and who could not love a face like that! Hope your week is better than mine was and God Bless!

A Pirate's Birthday

Summertime

This is summertime in Missouri. The weather has been fairly decent up to the last couple of days. It's now hot, hotter and even HOTTER! This was taken yesterday and it was ok out of the sun and a breeze was actually stirring.
I can't believe how big Drew has gotten. Almost all his baby ways are gone. Don't know where the time went since he was a little baby in our arms.

Early Retirement

Today was the first unofficial day of my husband's retirement. His real date is June 30th but yesterday they told him is was put in the job bank. That means until the 30th he can sit on his rear and draw a 40 hour a week paycheck!

We really put in a busy day today!
1. First we actually went to a weekday mass with Drew mind you!!!
2. Went to Walmart
3. Went out to breakfast at Hardee's.
4. Spent over an hour at the playground for Drew.
5. Ate supper on the go from Subway.
6. Went to a 6:00 o'clock softball for Kiera granddaughter. Took my telephoto lense with me and hopefully got some awesome shots of Kiera on the field. Also I think I got a really cute couple pics of J.D too!

Got to mention a funny little thing that Drew mentioned at Movie Gallery yesterday.
He love Pirates of the Caribean. He saw the movie and said look Nana, that's a pirate movie and that's Captain Jack Sparrow and it's called Pirates of the Care Bear. The cashier and I had a hoot over that one!

Theresa, my best friend keeps telling me I need to update my blog, so this one's for you, Tree! I went scrapping today with another one of my friends and finished two two page layouts and almost have another one page lo done tonight. I am on a ROLL!
I have tons of pictures to scrap but never enough time to get caught up. I used a transparency and stamped Happiness walks on busy feet on the left side and then in the bottom left hand corner I stamped TRIP on a transparency and put it on top of the ZOO word. Tomorrow I will try and get the one I just finished tonight which I tried to incorporated a bit of everything and go outside my comfort zone. It still looks pretty simple to me. I will have to get Theresa's opinion on it tomorrow.

And now for the soapbox...I want to say do the crime pay the time. I am sick of hearing again and again that someone like Paris Hilton getting out of jail time free and clear. Put your big girl panties on and buck up!!! IF it was one of the little peons we couldn't do anything about it because we don't have our hands in the politicans pockets. Enough ranting and raving. I am getting so excited and can hardly wait until the end of July. I have Friday and entire weekend Drewbie free. Isn't it silly when I don't have him I miss him so bad. I am in the process of tearing my scrapbook room apart to get ready to put a shelving unit with 11 drawers(Yipeeee!!!!) that I found at my lss that is going out of business. I really am sad to see the store close. I don't know what Theresa and I will do when we have no store left in Sullivan. Probably go thru withdrawls.

When I first saw the photo I immediately thought of Huck Finn. Drew is defintely going to be an adventurous, wild and stubborn boy just like Huck was in the book. With all of that mentioned he still brings such JOY! to me, that it sometimes overwhelms me with emotion.
With pictures like this I have finally gotten back into scrapbooking again after months of doing nothing major (except for a circle journal page). Yesterday I was able to do 4 pages of scrapbooking. I really was afraid I had lost something really important to me or at least something that I LOVE doing with a passion.
My next big challenge to myself is to get into digital scrapbooking. I hope it doesn't take me months to do that. Take care and God Bless.

Favorite Time of Year

Spring is my all time favorite season. I guess its because of my redbud tree which was the perfect Mother's Day gift from my kids several years ago. And because of my

The picture below is my name on the winning drawing of Liz Ness' RAK. Her little one, Duncan picked my name from the hat shown. I was so excited to win that I did a happy dance!

And this is what I received today in the mail. I am so excited because I am so clearly addicted to these kind of stamps. hehe Woohoo! Liz and Duncan. Can't wait to incorporate these into a layout. Will let you know when I do that. I have been thinking all day about ideas.

Glass in the Garden

This exhibit was in St. Louis at Missouri Botanical Garden formerly known as Shaw's Garden. One of my sons and I went into to see it. The artist is Dale Chilhuly. Glass in the garden was inspired by his mother's love of plants. Glass in the Garden took advantage of the unique vistas and vegetation of the Missouri Botanical Garden.
I took so many pictures that day. It was totally awesome. He permits and encourages photography of the artwork in the exhibition for education and non-commerical use only.

I can't really believe I haven't posted anything since November 14th. I guess I got to wrapped up in the holidays starting with Thanksgiving. Well I am sitting here after all the festivities are all done and there is such a quiet sound in the house that it is almost scary! Well I hope to get a few pictures up sometime this week but I am so far behind I don't know if I will ever catch up. I guess I have been trying to many things and not accomplishing much of anything. I haven't scrapped a page in so long I hope I haven't lost my desire to do one again. I did make all my Christmas cards this year which is saying something for me and I got them out in plenty of time. I will have my dh home until January 22nd so I don't know how much time I will get to devote to my passion for scrapping. I now have a new TV and brand new chair for my scrap room so I am totally ready to get going again. I want to wish all my friends a Happy New Year and hope to post some pics this week. First Digital Layout

This is a very simple digital layout. I am just beginning to get my fingers into digital scrapbooking. Theresa and I are both learning new stuff with the digital scrapping end of it. I did get very frustrated in the beginning but things are starting to click. Well if you asked Theresa if I was getting the hang of it she probably tell you another story. lol But I do believe you can teach a senior citizen some new TRICKS! Take care and be on the look out for some more digital lo's. And a BIG THANKS to Liz Ness for the free paper and ribbon embellishment that I use on this layout. The blue paper is awesome.

I can't believe my run of good luck lately. First I won a Cricut and now this awesome cherryArte package of goodies from Kelly Goree. This makes a neat beginning of my birthday on the 8th. Success After Many Fail Attempts

After many failed tries I finally got to upload a pic after downloading a new browser. I thought I would put a really good black and white that I ended of taking on the spur of the moment. I was messing around with my camera and caught Drew in this position. Don't know why there is a white space next to the picture though. Well I have been trying to uploading a couple of images and I am having no luck what so ever. Today is my fourth oldest child's 21st birthday. I have been a little sad just it doesn't seem that long ago that she was a little girl. An a mommy's baby to boot. Well she is still a momma's baby which I love! I want to post some really good pictures on here and because I can't I am so frustrated. Well I am going to post something that Theresa tagged me with. Five weird things about me:
1. I can't stand to touch wet peanut butter.
2. I won't eat peas canned, fresh or frozen. YUCK!!!
3. I am way to emotional.(don't know is that is weird or not)
4. Well I have two more to go and I am kind of stumped.....well I loved liver and onions. Is that weird enough.
5. One more to go....I love singing loud while driving my car.
Well I am going to go back and try figuring out way I can't upload my pictures.

A Nice Surprise

My local favorite scrapbook store Scrapper's Alley had a grand reopening on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They had a drawing for a Cricut. Theresa and I went over on Friday and put our names in for the drawing. We also got to get in the picture for the newspaper. Michelle is one of the nicest people to deal with. Well 5 o'clock Sunday came and went so I figured Theresa or I didn't win the Cricut. Well I had finished dinner and was talking with Theresa when I hung up and Michelle called to tell me that I WON the Cricut! Well I started jumping up and down and yelling. My kids were here and asked me if I had won and of course I yelled YES! I still am in total shock that I won. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Theresa just showed me how it works on Friday. I had to share the excitement with everyone. See Kristi I finally had something worthy to post. lol Playtime starts tomorrow after dinner. YIPEEEEE!

Another Story

Since I don't lead a real exciting life I thought I would post something Drew said again. His mommy and him were practicing animal sounds and he did everything right except when it came to doing the pig sound or should I said snort. He looked at his mommy and tried to make the noise and then he said he couldn't do it but his butt could. How cute is that? I hope to take some pictures tomorrow at a family picnic and trip to the Museum of Transporation. I know Drew will just love the trains because he will be able to climb on some of them. Fortune Cookie

With the trouble we have been having with our oldest, this fortune cookie really hit close to home. The fortune cookie said "Do not dwell on differences with a loved one - try to compromise. Also Theresa sent a quiz for me to do and this is the results. What kind of scrapbooking item are you? It seems I am PAPER! I think it is pretty right on.

Someone Other than Drew

I have been without a computer since Friday evening and finally got it back this morning. I didn't realize how addicted I am to my computer. And my email was almost out of control. The guy who fix my computer said I was about a hair's width from having a major hard drive crash. I feel really lucky to it working so wonderfully now.
This was a celebration of my youngest grandson JD at his 2nd birthday. He is only about 6 months younger than Drew.

A FuNnY TaLe

Yesterday Drew and I ate at McDonald's. We were almost finished eating when he pointed out the window and said a chicken crossed the road. And I said yeah right. I came to find out that a rooster(chicken to Drew) was indeed walking around outside of McDonald's. I found out that a evening shift girl's husband the night before had a rooster escape from his truck. The group of people there that afternoon thought he was relating something that I had read to him. He definitely got a few laughs when we all discovered the rooster. I'll learn to believe him from now on. Bye for now!
